Please note – the applicationand medical release form MUST be signed by a Parent/Guardian and turned in by Wednesday, March 2, 2016 before youwill be allowed to rehearse for the auditions! ADDITIONALLY, ANYOUTSTANDING CHOIR OR SHOW CHOIR FEES FROM 2015-2016 MUST BE TAKEN CARE OF BEFOREYOU ARE ELIGIBLE FOR AUDITION. If you are in Junior High, all of your outstanding fees must also bepaid. This policy will be strictly enforced this year.

REQUIREDREHEARSAL DATES:
Tuesday, March 8 6:30 AM-7:15 AM (busprovided to JH)
Thursday, March 10 3:30-5:30 PM
Monday, March 14, 3:30-5:30 PM
Youmust be at ALL of these rehearsals in order to participate in theauditions. Exceptions will be madeonly in extreme emergency situations. Please contact Mrs. Benham immediately if you believe you will have anissue with any of these rehearsals.
AUDITIONDATE: Auditionswill be Tuesday, March 15 beginningat 3:30 PM. Callbacks, if needed, will be on Wednesday or Thursday March 16 and 17 starting at 3:00pm. Students will need to be at callbacksif they are asked to be. Thecallback list will be posted on Wednesday,March 16 at 7:00 am outside the Junior High and High School choir rooms. I will schedule all students for anaudition slot. Girls will onlyneed to be there for their audition time. Boys should plan to stay longer, as there are typically more girls thataudition than boys, and they will be needed to participate in more than theirown audition.
AUDITIONREQUIREMENTS: Studentswill audition in groups of 4 (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass). Each student must sing through a scale,match a variety of pitches, and then perform “Rhythm of the Night.” The music is attached and can be foundon my class webpage (http://goo.gl/S1EbYG). Students will rehearse the musicand must pass it off in order to be able to move to the next room to learn thedance. A recording of the song isposted on my class webpage http://goo.gl/S1EbYG. Use it to learn your part. Each voice part has a solo in thesong. Seniors will teachchoreography to you as soon as you have learned your vocal part. We are hoping to also have it availablefor you to watch on a private YouTube link. If so, it will be posted on my class webpage.
AUDITIONRESULTS: Lettersof notification will be on Friday, March18th at 2:15. You may pickthem up outside of the HS choir office. Letters for JH students will be available at the JH Choir room.
HSENROLLMENT ISSUES: HS students will be enrolled in their class for next year BEFORE the audition process. If you are a current show choir member,enroll again in the same choir. Ifyou are not a current member, enroll in either Mixed Choir or Concert Choir. When you receive your audition results,it will state which choir you should be enrolled in and you may go to thecounselor and request changes.
WC SHOW CHOIRSCOMMITMENT: Byfilling out the audition application and committing to the audition process, thestudent and parent/guardian are committing to all of the responsibilities requiredof the 2016-2017 show choir. Asuccessful audition into one of the WC Show Choirs is a privilege and should betreated as such. Therefore, 100%attendance is expected at ALL WCShow Choir events. This includes twoweeks of summer vocal rehearsals June20-July 1 and another week of choreography that is tentatively scheduled forAugust 8-12, any out-of-class time rehearsals during the school year, and allperformances throughout the school year. Also, there is a financial obligation associated with both groups. Members of WC Singers and Bella Vocépay $360 per year. THE FIRST $100PAYMENT IS DUE BY MAY 16TH. This money is used primarily forcostuming pieces but also includes set design, some meals, hotel expenses, etc. Students are able to keep many of theitems, such as shoes, body suits, etc. If you are concerned about the financial obligation, pleasetalk to Mrs. Benham as soon as possible. Current WC Singers and BellaVocé members will not be allowed to audition of their current fees are notpaid.
